ICBA - Treatments Courts in Michigan

Time: October 11, 2018 - 9:15am
Location: Lansing, MI

On Thursday, October 11, 2018, the Ingham County Criminal Defense Law Section will host a presentation on Treatment Courts in Michigan. Treatment courts are specialty courts throughout the State of Michigan tailored towards serving those convicted of crimes in circumstances where traditional probation and jail sentences have failed to reduce recidivism or reduce the dangers to society. These courts are typically particular causes or populations and often have special benefits to participants. Knowledge of the availability and inner workings of specialty courts is particularly important to criminal defense attorneys when evaluating options and obtaining the best possible result for your clients. Presenters will be from the Michigan Association of Treatment Court Professionals.

The presentation will begin at 9:15am and will be held at the State Bar of Michigan, 306 Townsend Street. The presentation is expected to last 60 to 90 minutes.

Please RSVP to ICBA-CDLS co-chairperson Chris Wickman at chris@equalfootinglaw.com if you plan on attending. This event is provided free of charge. You do not need to be a member of the ICBA to attend though we hope you’ll consider joining.
