Training access varies by event.  A significant portion of the funding for defense training is provided by the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards.

Over a dozen half-day training events are offered annually by the CDRC throughout the state, on sentencing practice, and technology issues such as trial presentations, online research, and word processing.  Events often are presented in computer labs, allowing hands-on experience.

The CDRC also lists and provides access to training offered by its partners, the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan and the Criminal Advocacy Program.
