SADO/MAACS - Effective Assistance of Counsel for Youth

The Youth Defense Project at the State Appellate Defender Office and Michigan Appellate Assigned Counsel System continues its series of youth defense trainings with a presentation on effective assistance of counsel for youth.

Youth in the juvenile legal system have the same right to the effective assistance of counsel as adults and often are in need for greater guidance and patience from their attorney. Katherine Marcuz of the State Appellate Defender Office will present on how to ensure that you are being an effective attorney for your young client and explain what to do to avoid to an ineffective assistance claim.

This training is restricted to defense attorneys and members of defense teams. Please register in advance.
