SADO's Adrienne Young appointed to the MI Court of Appeals!
Governor Whitmer appoints career public defender to the bench
Adrienne Nicole Young has been appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to serve as a judge on the Michigan Court of Appeals.
For the past eight years, Adrienne has served as a public defender at the State Appellate Defender Office (SADO) where she represents individuals appealing felony convictions and sentences throughout the state. As an advocate, Adrienne is smart, creative, ethical, compassionate, hard-working, and collaborative. As a result of this combination of traits and skills, Adrienne has changed the landscape of criminal law for the better while obtaining positive outcomes for the people she represents. Just this week, Adrienne successfully obtained relief for an innocent client who was exonerated through DNA evidence.
Beyond her direct representation of clients, Adrienne has made her mark on the legal community as a credible and qualified trainer, illustrating her commitment to improving the quality of legal representation in our State.
Adrienne’s integrity and intelligence will benefit the Court of Appeals and all Michiganders. SADO is proud to congratulate Adrienne on this well-deserved appointment.
