Local Success: May & June 2019
Below are trial court victories of our subscribers as reported on SADO’s Forum—an online community for criminal defense attorneys. Troy B. Daniel won not guilty verdicts June 7, 2019, in a case with three counts of assault by strangulation.
Joshua P. Rubin won not guilty verdicts May 1, 2019, in a two-count fourth-degree child abuse case in the 72nd Judicial District Court (Port Huron). Mr. Rubin, the next day, got a not guilty verdict from a jury after a two-hour deliberation, in a domestic violence case, also in the 72nd Judicial District Court. In early June, Mr. Rubin had two separate assault and battery trials in the 72nd Judicial District Court (Port Huron), and won not guilty verdicts in each.
Adil Haradhvala got an assault with intent to commit murder charge dismissed after a preliminary examination in the 37th Judicial District Court (Warren). In another case, Mr. Haradhvala successfully moved in the 16th Judicial (Macomb County) Circuit Court to quash a receiving and concealing stolen property (motor vehicle) charge. In a third matter, Mr. Haradhvala obtained dismissal of a CSC4 charge, also in the 16th Circuit Court, due to the client’s incompetency.
Michael Dagher-Margosian had a motion for directed verdict granted June 21, 2019, in a child abuse 4th degree case in the 14B Judicial District Court (Ypsilanti).
Jeffrey S. Kaplan, with the Berrien County Defender Office, won a not guilty verdict – in his first felony trial – June 26, 2019, in a breaking and entering case.
